Motorists in Lisbon, Ohio, should prepare for temporary traffic changes next week as a key on ramp to State Route 11 will be closed for scheduled maintenance work in Columbiana County.

Beginning Tuesday, February 17, the on ramp from State Route 154 to State Route 11 southbound will be closed daily from 1 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closure is expected to last through Friday, February 20, weather permitting. The temporary restriction is necessary to allow crews to carry out tree trimming operations along the roadway.

Transportation officials said the work is part of routine maintenance designed to improve visibility and enhance safety for drivers. Overgrown trees and vegetation near highways can obstruct sightlines and pose potential hazards, particularly during adverse weather conditions.

During the closure period, a signed detour will be in place to guide motorists safely around the work zone. Drivers traveling on State Route 154 will be directed west toward U.S. Route 30 in Lisbon. From there, they should continue east on U.S. 30 until reaching the combined State Route 11 southbound and U.S. 30 eastbound on ramp, where they can rejoin State Route 11 south.

Officials advise drivers to allow extra travel time, especially during morning and midday hours when traffic volumes may be higher. Motorists are also encouraged to follow posted signage and remain alert for maintenance crews working near the roadway.

The planned schedule may be adjusted depending on weather conditions. Authorities noted that if snow or ice develops during the week, the ramps will be reopened temporarily so that road crews can plow and treat surfaces to maintain safe driving conditions.

Local residents and commuters who regularly use the Route 11 southbound ramp are encouraged to plan alternative routes where possible and monitor updates from county transportation services.

While the closure is temporary, officials emphasize that such maintenance projects are essential to maintaining roadway safety and ensuring long term infrastructure reliability throughout Columbiana County.
