Lisbon is preparing to host another creative gathering as the 66th edition of Lisbon Fashion Week introduces a series of Fast Talks aimed at exploring the future of fashion, technology and cultural identity. The discussions form part of the ModaLisboa Pebbling programme, which runs from March 11 to March 15 and brings together designers, artists and industry professionals from across Europe.

The programme begins with the opening of a pop up store dedicated to Portuguese designers and fashion brands at MUDE Museum of Design on March 11. The store will remain open throughout the week, offering visitors and fashion professionals an opportunity to discover local talent and contemporary design from Portugal’s growing creative sector.

One of the central events of the programme will take place on March 12 at the Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian. The session titled Technology Identity and the Future will run from 3 pm to 5 pm and will focus on how emerging technologies are influencing fashion, artistic expression and cultural narratives. The discussion will be moderated cultural journalist Joana Moreira who has previously contributed to several international publications covering fashion and lifestyle.

The panel will bring together voices from different creative disciplines. Damara Inglês, a creative technologist and artist, is known for exploring storytelling through the intersection of fashion, art and digital technologies. Her work often examines how innovation can reshape creative industries and visual culture.

Swiss artist Evy Jokhova also joins the conversation. Jokhova works across multiple mediums including sculpture, performance and video while drawing influence from anthropology, philosophy and architecture. Her practice reflects a multidisciplinary approach that aligns closely with the evolving identity of contemporary fashion.

Another speaker is Federigo Gabellieri, an Italian art director and creative professional who has spent more than a decade working with international fashion media. His experience in editorial direction and visual storytelling provides insight into how fashion communication is evolving in the digital age.

Sónia Jesus will contribute perspectives from the luxury sector. As a director within the Amorim Luxury Group she focuses on brand identity, aesthetics and the cultural frameworks that shape premium markets. Her expertise connects design creativity with the business and commercial aspects of the fashion industry.

Artist and performer Tristany Mundu adds a cross cultural dimension to the event. With Angolan and Portuguese roots he combines music, visual art and performance to reflect social realities and identity through creative expression.

Beyond the discussions the programme also highlights artistic presentations connected to fashion design. On March 13 the designer and visual artist Lidija Kolovrat will present a new collection titled Seeds Need to Break to Grow at the Gulbenkian modern art centre. The presentation explores themes of transformation, memory and growth through symbolic design elements.

Kolovrat was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and later moved to Portugal where she has built a career combining visual art and fashion design. Her work often reflects cultural heritage while experimenting with geometric forms and spiritual symbolism.

The Fast Talks programme will continue on March 14 with ModaPortugal Talks focusing on the relationship between designers and the textile industry. The discussion aims to examine how new production models and collaborative frameworks are reshaping fashion manufacturing and designer led innovation within Portugal’s growing apparel sector.
